Vernon began his career at Axis Barber Salon in 1994 with the concept of caring for clients hair and not just cutting hair. He specializes in Twist, Locs,Haircutting,Hot Lather Shaves, hair/scalp treatments, and hair coloring. Vernon is a 1991 graduate of Southern Barber College in Augusta Ga, completed methods of teaching at Back To Basics Educational Forum under the direction of Dr. Linda C Wright-Washington of Aiken, SC., studied the science of trichology under Dr. Rodney Barnett certified trichologist of Dallas, Texas., completed eight course at the Milady Career Institute in Orlando, Fla., and graduated with honors from Savannah River College majored in Business Management and is currently a full-time student at Voorhees College in Denmark, SC. Vernon is also a licensed Barber Instructor in both South Carolina and Georgia, a master hair care specialist, master barber; organizer and president of the CSRA Barber's Association, and State of Georgia IFCC chairman. He does not believe that one will ever know it all in this business but believes that you should seek as much education as possible. Vernon has trained with and under some of today's most respected educators in the barber industry such as: Maura Scali-Sheahan author of the Milady Barber Textbook 5th ed., Ivan Zoot and Kenny Williams both Andis educators, and with Ashtae product company. He is currently the Barbering department chair person,student advisor, and instructor at a local Technical College, in Augusta,Georgia, . Vernon has been inducted into the Cambridge Who's Who Hall of Fame and is also the proud proprietor of Axis Barber Salon, LLC. Three locations serving; Aiken, Beech Island, and Anderson, SC. A barbering educational site in Aiken, SC contracted with the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation, and the SC Employment Commission with WIA. After completing his education Vernon will soon be a Doctor of Trichology.
